Hi guys I'm Isaiah, I'm new to owning leopard geckos, I got mine about a month ago, he just shed with no problems, the lady said he was 4-5 months old so I'd say he's 5 months because he kinda big. He's in a 20 long, tile on the right with an under tank heater that is controlled by a thermostat, Eco earth on the left(going to be changing to reptile carpet on the left) Everything I said you can see in the picture below:) I gotta a bunch of answers from these forums before so I signed up...

Is his setup alright? The temperature stays at 87, the tile keeps the heat in so the uth doesn't have to work so hard! Quite handy.

I noticed that the probe to your thermometer is in the air. If the air temp is 87, the floor is probably too warm. The floor temp on the warm side should be about 90 and the floor temp on the cool side should be no higher than 75.

I see. In that case I agree that everything looks fine. =)
He is acting a tad bit weird... After he shed he's been sleeping in his cool/moist hide.. I haven't seen him leave it, maybe at night he goes over to the warm side. He hasn't eaten anything but I've read they don't eat a few days after shed. Oh! I just remembered, Do I reduce the temperature on my uth at night? I lower it to 76, I know they need a drop in temperature but idk if that's the right way to do it.

As long as his weight is staying steady, it's not a big deal if he goes off food for a few days. It's also not a big deal that he is staying in his moist hide. The majority of my leopard geckos (I have 23) spend 80% of their time in the moist hide and some never seem to leave it (although I bet they actually do when I am sleeping at night).

There is really no need to drop the temps at night (although you can if you want to). Mine have a warm side at 90 F 24/7/365.

23! That's a lot! He's weight is still the same so I guess it's fine. I'll leave my uth at 87 through the night since I feel like he goes to the warm side at night. Thanks for everything!
