My name is Brian, I live in Massachusetts, about to finish my junior year of highschool. I have never really had pets, I had two frogs for about a month a few years back and gave them away. However, I have just bought a leopard gecko about 5 days ago and I decided to name him George. I'm not quite sure what morph he is, I think he is just normal. I've seen many pictures of other leopard geckos that look very similar to him. He is mostly brown, has a white strip going from the back of his head to his mouth, with a black stripe right about it. He also has many black spots on his head and his body is brown with three big stripes of black on his back. His tail is black/gray/white striped. He seems very shy as of right now, and I am using a log i bought from the store on his warm side. He seems to love this. it has a back entrance/exit, a front one, and it also goes up inside so he usually climbs up and sleeps in there. On the cooler side, I have a normal half-log against the glass with a little tupperware top underneath that has papertowels on it that i spray and use as his moist hide, though I have not caught him in there yet. Does the glass viewing make him not want to hide in their because he isn't entirely hidden? I am using a heat lamp and about to get an under tank heater ASAP when i get paid because I know these are better products to invest in. Also, i won't have to make so much noise taking the lamp off up top to feed him. Anyway, i've yet to find a calcium without D3 around me so i don't have a calcium bowl, but i have a water bowl and i also dust his crickets with calcium with d3 twice a week. I've only done this twice, seeing as he is new to me. He seems to get very still when i walk in the room or look at him and often goes back in hiding, though not all the time. i was thinking of waiting about another week to start sticking my hand in to get him used to it in order to begin handling him. i absolutely can't wait to hold him, but i feel like he's so shy with me and i don't want him to be! other peoples leo's seem so energetic and outgoing sometimes! anyway, i'm brian. if you have any comments to help me out or anything, much appreciated. I apologize in advance for such a long introduction, if you even bother reading! Thanks

Welcome to GF. Search around the forum and dont be afraid to ask a question. There's a lot of good info here on how to properly and simply take care of your geckos. Hope you enjoy yourself.
