just some assorted shots...i know it's not as fun to look as it is to take them yourselves.,.haha

i can't remember if i posted those two mack hatchlings or not, lol
the clutch that hatched before this one was the same thing, one jungle/one reverse stripe...

anyway, the first two images are of a het eclipse reverse stripe,
-then there is a mack het raptor, followed by two of his offspring
-followed by two stripe crosses
-then a mack jungle, and a tang sunglow
-and finally the mack het raptor chilling in his crib (with a barely visible female red stripe behind him)

even if you trust your cat, please don't do that and you may be thinking the heck with her, its my gecko and my cat, but you were taking pics, it would only take a split second for that to have gone really really bad, you would not be able to put the camera down fast enough to do anything.

about the cat....

she's a pain in the ____ sometimes, but Akasha (my cat) has been with me for almost 17 years....

I have made a great deal of effort to get her accustomed to the geckos, I don't know how dogs are, but cats are easier to train with age...
I always introduce any gecko that i have out to her, and usually they exchange some cold nose touching, hahaha

Akasha has actually 'found' two escaped geckos for me this summer!!!
I can tell by the sound of her meow when something is up, and luckily i didn't ignore that sound that says, 'hey now, what do we have here?'
..because of her i found a reverse stripe and a reverse red stripe that both had gotten out a few months ago....one was gone for a week, the other almost two weeks..

I completely trust her in my presence around the geckos, but if ever she should get a little carried away, all i do is say her name in 'that way', and she immediately stops whatever she is doing, I am really lucky to have a cat like her, for sure...

..if it wasn't for the fact the geckos won't just stay still, she would let them ride on her back around the house...lol

since we're talking cats, i have to post a pic of her significant non-breeding other, Marley...the super-chill maine coon cross...
he was truly an awesome cat, at 19lbs...a gentle giant
she outlived him, but he was my first cat, both were rescues...
sorry for the off topic response...

Great cat! I have had hunting cats that learned that my rabbit and parrot were "part of the family". Like you, I wouldn't leave them uncaged around these other animals when I wasn't present. One of my current cats likes to watch the geckos in their cages from the couch. On the other hand, one of my adult males got out last spring and the cats killed him so I don't let these cats near uncaged geckos.

LOL, I have two cats, I returned home from a show a while back and one of them had pulled out a steralite container and "played" with my gecko. Actually happened twice before I moved geckos to a no cat room. Geckos are fine BTW thank god! So hey what is that trempor on your hand? mack het raptor or just a trempor?

things are called accidents because they are just that, the unexpected, an accident that no one could have possibly foreseen.

The cat finding the leos shows a hunting instinct right there and that "sound" you talk about is probably not a "Hey dad I found your leo" its more than likely a "hey its loose I wonder if I can get it before dad gets here."

So do what you do, let your cat play with your leos. But if you ever do get unlucky and have an accident I will not say I told you so, Ill tell well you right now that I won't say anything cause I already said what I have to say and you think its cute to let the cat play with the leos and I don't. Nuf said already.

thanks..

I appreciate the concern, and wanted to thank you for reminding me that sometimes accidents do happen.

I never let my cat play with any of my 80 + geckos.
And wanted to stress that although I seem like a very laid back guy in terms of my attitude, I take the health of all my animals seriously.
