i will help you out with a link that will answer most if not all your questions

that site as well as others you can find by google as well as many breeders

that are here on this forum have this information on the website.

so you dont even have leos yet? and plan on breeding them after you have them a month? wouldnt really recommend that...you need to learn how to take care of them before breeding them.

Why do you want to breed them so badly?

I would recommend doing more research before you breed your leopard geckos. Breeding takes a lot of work and effort on your part, and can put stress on your leos as well. Before jumping into this you might want to read up and make sure you know everything you will need to know in order to make sure you can provide the best environment for your leos and their future hatchlings.

As for the questions you have in your post... Use the search feature and a lot of the questions you asked can be answered by looking at previous threads.

Here's one thread that might be useful:

I would recommend keeping them as pets for at least a year before breeding them and learning to use the search function before posting questions.

Yeah I agree with Mel. You need to have them as pets and make sure you care for them right. Leopard geckos sexually mature around 9 months. Also its alot of work and you will need time to set up to breed them. Do alot of research before you decide to breed them or not.

Really, why are you so anxious? If you think you are going to make money, you are very wrong. I highly doubt you have anywhere NEAR enough experience to want to breed yet. If you don't eve have your geckos yet, how do you know you will like them? Will you get bored with them in a few months, maybe a year? Do you understand how much it costs to keep hatchlings? Even if its only 1 female?

Pet store employees are not veterinarians and should not be consulted for medical advise. When geckos eat too many mealworms they usually regurgitate them. I've never heard of a 3 year old gecko dying due to swallowing mealworms incorrectly. But then again, I am not a veterinarian either... I could be totally wrong but it almost seems like your trolling.

seems like it....you have asked all these questions but when you get a response or a question asked you reply with some off the wall response or another random question and disregard what has been asked. you could at least be courteous and answer questions when people are answering your questions.

Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything, but that's exactly what it seems like. It's almost like you don't even read what we reply with anyway. :main_lipsrsealed:

Josh, may I ask how old you are? It seems by your many posts and redundant questions that you must be very young and/or immature, and so far have not demonstrated good judgement and responsibility.

Asking questions is a GOOD thing, and GeckoForums.net is a great place to learn and share all about the geckos we love! One of the things that makes this website such a wonderful resource is the willingness of it's members to answer questions and help each other, so I don't want to discourage you from asking. It's just very frustrating for many of us to even attempt to answer the generalized questions you ask.

What I would like to see is your well-thought out, specific plan for HOW you are going to care for your gecko(s) before attempting a breeding project. Spend some time actually reading the vast wealth of information that has already been discussed here on GF, as well as the many care sheets on the various breeder's websites, and then formulate your questions based on specific additional information you may need.

Keeping any animal is a huge commitment and responsibility. Breeding them requires MUCH more!

Most Pet stores don't know health info on the animals they sell. Thats why you need to find a good vet in your area that works with reptiles. As far as the mealworm eating out of the stomach I think it is an Urban legend. I can't see how a mealworm can survive being in stomach acid and eating its way out of a reptile. If you follow the guidelines and feed insects no bigger then the size from the eyes and mouth you should have nothing to worry about. ( I think that is it or close).
Most people breed leopard geckos because they enjoy them not really for profit. I love interacting with my geckos. As long as people like and buy my leopards I produce and take care of them, thats all the reward I need.

I never intentionally breed a new animal. Even if I know what I'm doing I operate on the assumption it's not in tip top health yet and give it at least a few months to get it's "reserves" in shape. Especially females.

Please try & take in all the info everyone has provided. If you were recently asking what deli cups are, you're not ready to breed. Get a gecko & take it for what it is, a very interesting animal with alot of personality. If you enjoyed your previous gecko then i recommend you get one from a breeder, not a pet shop. Spend a year or so reading in your spare time & before you know it, YOU will be the one answering these questions, not asking them. Also, please don't take any of these posts as being rude, we all take this lifestyle very seriously & it's up to us to ensure that everyone in the future enjoys these animals, but correctly.
