Hello and welcome to the forum! I'm 15 as well. :) Not sure if you already purchased a ton of supplies for your lovely sounding leo, but just in case, I'll let you know what you need. :)
1) Tank - 10 gallon is a great size for 1 leo, a 20 gallon is even better. :) MUST HAVE A LID.
2) UTH - Under Tank Heater. You buy them based on the size of the tank.
3) Thermomstat - goes along with the UTH. The UTH should be between 88-96 degrees. The thermomstat will tell you how hot it is. If it's too hot, adjust the substrate.
4) Substrate - This is a highly debated topic, but I personally use paper towels. Cheap, easy to replace, and no risk of harm to the animal. Repti carper looks better but I've heard that leo's toes can be caught in it. Sand can possibly cause impaction, where the sand gets caught in the digestive track and the leo can get very sick and even die. I personally say better safe than sorry. If you want you can use tile, which is very safe and can be cut to fit the size and shape of the tank.
5) Hides - 3 fun and different hiding spots for the gecko, one over the UTH (warm hide) One on the opposite end of the tank (cool hide) and the last one is usually in the middle of the tank (moist hide). The first 2 hides are used for regulating the geckos body temperature, being cold blooded and all. The moist hide is used for shedding. You can fill it with moist peat moss or moist paper towel so that if the gecko needs to shed, there is a nice moist place for it to get it's dry skin off. Alot of people use a tupperware container with a hole cut in it somewhere, and fill that with the moss or paper towel.
6) Dishes - water and calcium. Just a simple water dish is fine, needs to be changed every day. The calcium dish is filled with calcium powder, repashy is a great brand of that. Gecko's will lick at it themselves, but it's nice to dunk their food in it every once in a while before feeding too. Keeps their bones strong and prevents MBD, which is not a fun condition.
I think that's everything. Hope this was helpful! Congrats on getting your first leo, can't wait to see pictures.
