Hi every1 I am new!! and i was wondering... I got a new leopard gecko on Saturday and she wont eat the 2 meal worms i put in her tank. is she still adjusting? i held her a couple times and she didn't seem to mind. Is this a sign of stress?Any answers would be appreciated thx
Hey Maya' welcome! Yes it can take a gecko few days to a few weeks to adjust to her new home; as long as food is available she will eat when she is ready.
Its good to know its nothing to worry about maybe next time ill try a few crickets iinstead. And does any1know how i can tame her enough so she can willfully climb on my hand?
Welcome to GF Maya! Here is a link to our caresheet for leopard geckos: http://ohiogecko.com/care-sheets-mainmenu-35/leopard-gecko-care-sheet.html It is important to have the right habitat and temps setup so the gecko can digest their food properly. If the habitat is setup properly it usually helps with the geckos demeanor and handleability. I have talked to numerous people who had unfriendly geckos and found a direct correlation to them using lights for heat.
