Hey all!
My name is Sara, I'm 23, a student at Missouri State University and I just bought my first reptile ever, a leopard gecko. I think its a girl but not real sure yet. She is about 5 months old. I have read a lot of info in preparing for my little friend bcuz I had no idea what to expect, but I feel like I might be doing everything right. I have an under tank heater that stays on all the time, is this safe? I have an over tank basking light 50 watts that I have on for 6 hours a day, recommended time from the pet store. I'm feeding her crickets right now and she is liking it for the most part. I feed the crickets peaches and and dusted them with calcium powder. During the day her cage is a steady 80 degrees, is this okay? and her humidity levels are always kinda high, 40 to 50% and I dont know if thats a big deal, if it is how do I get it down. She only sleeps on the warm side but I have never seen the tank any higher than 85 or lower than 70, do i need to do something different? I know Im asking alot of questions but just want her to be happy and healthy, I will probably be asking more. Any info or advice is much apperciated.
Thanks
