Hey all!
My name is Sara, I'm 23, a student at Missouri State University and I just bought my first reptile ever, a leopard gecko. I think its a girl but not real sure yet. She is about 5 months old. I have read a lot of info in preparing for my little friend bcuz I had no idea what to expect, but I feel like I might be doing everything right. I have an under tank heater that stays on all the time, is this safe? I have an over tank basking light 50 watts that I have on for 6 hours a day, recommended time from the pet store. I'm feeding her crickets right now and she is liking it for the most part. I feed the crickets peaches and and dusted them with calcium powder. During the day her cage is a steady 80 degrees, is this okay? and her humidity levels are always kinda high, 40 to 50% and I dont know if thats a big deal, if it is how do I get it down. She only sleeps on the warm side but I have never seen the tank any higher than 85 or lower than 70, do i need to do something different? I know Im asking alot of questions but just want her to be happy and healthy, I will probably be asking more. Any info or advice is much apperciated.
Thanks

Your temps are too low. Ground temperature on the warm side should be 90-95F. Make sure you use a thermometer with a probe and put the probe on the ground.

Peaches aren't enough to properly gut load feeders. Either buy a quality cricket gut load( I recommend Repashy brand or Pro Geckos Gutload) or feed them a varied mix of fish flakes, high quality dog food, oats, and fresh fruits and veggies. Dusting with calcium every other feeding or so is good.

My under tank heaters are always on to maintain the heat... just make sure it has room to breathe... if it is not on an aquarium stand (they are open under the tank) then get something like piece of cardboard or anything like that to put under each corner so the heat can escape some... My Leos tank is on my hope chest and I just folder 4 squares of a pizza box and it works well.... other than that and what T-ReXx said I think your off to a good start!
