I'm a stay at home mom of 4 and one of my children got bitten by the reptile bug and decided she wanted a snake. We did alot of research and we now have 2 corn snakes, living in separate vivs. While we were researching we went to a couple of reptile expos just to look at all the different creatures and talk to breeders. It seems this reptile bug is catching because now another child seems to have been infected and would like a leopard gecko ;) We are now researching leopard geckos and this forum looks very informative so thought I would join and introduce myself.

We already have a 20 long MartyMade reptile tank, that I found on craigslist for a great deal. I gave it a really good scrub down with hot water and ammonia, I also got some ceramic tiles for the bottom. We will get an UTH, a thermostat and a digital thermometer. I'm learning so much from lurking and reading. I may not end up being a big poster but I truly appreciate the wealth of knowledge here :main_thumbsup:

Welcome Alicia, your positive attitude is appreciated. Temperature is key, so you're doing well with the UTH, thermostat and digital thermometer. The UTH should take up 1/3 or less of the floor space in the terrarium. I would go with the smallest available, which should cover about 1/4 and should be plenty. Make sure to research supplements as well as they're vital to leos.

Welcome to GF and the reptile addiction :) It is great to see a responsible pet owner do their homework before buying a new pet! I look forward to your posts and seeing pics of your future gecko/s.
