High-yellow normal keeps losing lavender patches as it gets older!

Hi everyone -

My 9 month old high-yellow normal used to be yellow with lavender "Stripes" across its body every other inch, but as it is getting older the lavender stripes have just become smaller botches and the yellow has become brighter, so it looks now like 90% yellow 10% lavender (except for the tail, which is all lavender), where as it used to be like 70%/30%. Is this normal, and, will the lavender stripes ENTIRELY disappear as it gets even older?? It still has all of its black dots all over. No tang in it, not an albino, just a high yellow normal.

Thank you so much everyone. :main_thumbsup:

same with my 9 month old leo, however he had 3 patches on his back and the one closest to the head is no more than several dots, but the other two still remain...

In most cases, the lavendar is the color you get as the black fades. I know there are some breeders who have lines that keep the lavendar, but most of the time as the gecko gets older, it gets yellower.

most normals with some lavender colouring will often fade as they get older, but some do retain it. My male normal who I think is roughly 4 or 5 years old still has all of his lavender.
