I'm curious as to what everybody has had for their record high and low weight for a hatchling. We just started breeding this year, and all the weights have been very close 3.9g-4.4g. I remember seeing a post once that somebody had a giant that was 5g, and I'm sure there are some tiny premies out there. So what is your personal hi/lo record?

Mine wasnt a premie, but had one hatch 35 days @ 90 degs today, and weighed 2.2 grams. No deformities, just had a small mom. That's my smallest. No big ones big enough to recall though.

I've had a couple tiny ones under 2 grams. My biggest ones were from Agnes x Pogue (not giants) at 5 grams. Most of mine are 3-4 grams.

You have to have a really accurate scale, but I have a little cup that weighs out evenly, so I just put the baby in the cup, weigh them both, and subtract the weight of the cup :)

My highest this year was 4.6 grams (RAPTOR x Sunglow pairing) and lowest was 2.8 (RAPTOR x T.Patty pairing).

Wow! under 2 grams. I think that would be nerve-racking. I'm sure it will happen sometime for us as well, but we have been blessed so far with our ones that have hatched. Were those premies?

I had one hatch out at 1.8 grams with no deformities, and his clutch mate hatched out at 1.7 grams and has deformities. (I'm not going to be selling the clutch mate to the one with deformities or the deformed one.) My largest hatched out at 4 grams.

My scale does not do tenths of grams, but my smallest was too tiny to survive, though not really a premie (7 weeks incubated at 82) and was about 1 gram (lived for 3 days). My biggest was probably about 4.5 grams, since the scale kept going between 4 and 5. I've had a lot in that higher range this year.

To weigh newborns, I weigh an empty container, then weigh it again with the gecko in it.

No, not preemies. My scale only measures in grams, but I doubt they were much less than 2. It is stressful, but the first one is already almost a year old and normal size. I don't always weigh them now. I can sort of eyeball the weight.;)

My biggest one was a Sunglow hatchling from Sunglow x Sunglow, weighed 5.5/6 grams at hatching, the egg was way bigger than the rest of my eggs, an he sucked the whole sack, so he/she was big !

Well to be honest with you, I haven't marked the baby that was that big at hatching, although I do think I know which one it is, he's 2 months old now and weighs 24 grams, but both parents are non giants. They are quite heavy though, father weighs 92 grams, the mother 65 grams, but no Giant genes to my knowledge.
