Well the HP will be for the ole lady and she doesn't need a dvd burner nor a blu ray player. But the Dell will have both and the i7 quad core in it. All and all I think both of those laptops and having my mac mini will keep us going for quite some time.

I almost thought about getting an iPad 2 but realized that it wasn't worth it right now

The only reason I am getting a new one is because my old one has forgotten it is a computer about 3 times now. It can no longer do wireless internet. The DVD player is so outdated that Pioneer doesn't even offer a driver for it anymore. Everything I do takes up so much CPU usage that it keeps overheating and shutting itself off. The thing is practically a fire hazard. When I say "Everything I do" I mean everything. It will lock up playing solitaire. I've already taken it in once and had to get the hard drive replaced. I don't feel like spending several hundred more dollars on it when I don't think there is much hope left. It served me well for the past 5 years, but it is time to put it to rest and catch up with technology.
