Has your leopards ever hissed and bit you? Because mine does it right before I feed him. He only does it when I try to pick him up. After I feed him, he's fine. He just started eating a week ago. He's not even 6 monyhs yet. I'm not worried, just, want to solve it.:main_yes:

How long have you had him for?. Some geckos take a while to get comfortable to handling. It happens all the time, your doing the right thing by handling, hell get use to it.

That is funny, grumpy and moody before feeding...like me :p. All I could think of is just keep doing what your doing by trying to handle him before feeding unless it causes him a great deal of stress when he hisses. Honestly he should get use to it.....do you feed daily?

my grown leos never do this, it's more the newer hatchlings, but not even all of them. usually they take a lunge at me or even chase me down when i go in their enclosures to get their food bowls or do quick spot cleanings, and let out these long screeching sounds. they always end up stopping that after about a week and a half two two weeks or so after they get used to me.

i just find that handling them a bit more, without being too aggressive so i don't spook them and make them drop a tail, and time, tend to make them mellow out. i've just had a raptor hatch here recently that even now, if i lift up it's rock to see him he'll screech a bit, and maybe even chase me down to get me lol. kinda funny in a way sometimes.

I've had my Leo for about 6 months. She still hisses at me when I pick her up. Just ignore it. Don't show fear or ur Leo will keep doing it because it will know u will leave it alone when it does.

my younger ones will do it more than my older ones. My older ones only do it if I am trying to take them out when they dont want to in which case I leave them alone lol I had one gecko that I swear thought it was bigger than it was. It hissed and barked at me the minute my hand went in the cage.
