At Petco getting mealworms I took a peak at the baby leopard geckos like usual. I got my baby from this same (clutch perhaps? All are same age and seem to be half normal and half tang...I got one of the tangs)....well one baby I didnt notice before looks to be a tang and its tan pattern was not banded, but going vertical up his sides - one on either side.

Would that have been a tang reverse stripe?

I wanted to get him/her too....but they keep these poor babies on sand and this little one had sand on his nose and mouth like he'd just eaten some. :(

they change so much when they are little, its sounds like a stripe tang but with most tangs the stripe fades out to be hypo or super hypo, hard to guess without a pic.

You may want to save them all but you can't, sometimes you just have to walk away

No, it would be a stripe. Reverse stripes have one dark stripe down the back. Stripes have two dark stripes, one on each side.

This is a reverse stripe:

Do you mean like this??? If so, first shot is baby, second shows a few weeks later and now she has hypo'd out with only two spots (where the "circle butt" used to be) and a bit of carroting on her tail (I need to take more pictures - she's a fatty now :p )

Yes like that!

It was just like the first picture, except much lighter. Like a light tan. And she was a tad lighter then my tang I got there last week but still more orange then yellow. There looked to be a normal in the tank with her/him that was definite yellow with dark brown bands, so it was a good comparison showing how different she was.

Oooh very nice by the way. I kinda wish I had gotten her now. A nice distinctive pattern. The one I have has bands, but the bands are starting to lighten up with a few dark spots inside them. He's still only 5 weeks old though and no more then 4" long.

Okay, you mean like this? (This is proof of the addiction in case anyone out there questions it :main_laugh: ) I can't believe I don't have any more recent pics - he's one of my favorites. He's now super hypo with a nice carrottail. If this is what you're talking about, I'll take some new pics if you want to see what that little baby might turn into.

Yes much like that, except he/she was younger I believe? The tan was just a tad darker but much the same.

Very cute!!!

It's hard to restrain myself to not go back and get it. LOL (Yes I'm addicted)

This is the one I did get last week, this pic was taken today to show his approx size (which is the same size as the baby still there with the stripes)...

Oh that baby is soooooo cute :smitten:

Obviously I'm an enabler :D

Here's what Callaway looks like at 6 months. One of my favorites even though I get screamed at whenever I get too close ...

Oh man so he still screams at you several months later?! I thought they outgrew it with age and frequent handling. :(
"Hades" (what we're affectionately calling our new baby, because he's a little hellion LOL) is a big screamer. My first leopard gecko never screamed at us.

He lunges at me, and tries to bite me, and screams at me every time I try to even pet him. I've only had him for a week so I thought he'd outgrow it. *sniff*

Thanks for the compliment by the way! Looking at that pic I posted in this thread, I think he must have shed again within the last few hours because I was just looking at him (through the glass haha) and his black bands on his tail are lighter and his tan bands on his back are lighter too.
Yay! :)

By the way - Callaway is very pretty! :) I was hoping for coloring like that but I think "Hades" may end up being a hypo tang rather then a super hypo tang. I don't know though, I'm all new to this! haha

Yeah, he's a screamer, but it's all talk and no action :p He actually tolerates handling very well and we don't bug him too much (just mainly on cleaning days and if he ever has any stuck shed).

The best part about having babies to me is seeing what they will turn into. Sometimes you think the spots will disappear and instead they multiply.
