What do you mean by house it like a ball python? If you mean cage size, then yes, but they have different temp and humidity requirements.

actually hog island boas can get large. some say they are a dwarf boa but i say not a true dwarf. they just generally are smaller. as far as enclosure size, adults need more room than an adult ball python for sure. hog island boas are possibly one of my favorite boas and i kept and bred them for several years. be careful of people selling them. some of the hog island boas have been bred into the mainland BCI and will get even larger. i would be VERY picky about who to buy from.

yeah as youngsters they tend to climb quite a bit. i wouldn't say they need a super high humidity but they need more than a ball thats for sure.

How big did your Hogs get Robin? All the adults I've seen have been 5 feet or less, mine is currently a little over 3 feet at one year of age.

Sweet page! Does he actually sell Boas anymore, or just have the page up for info? I can't find an available page, though there was interesting tidbit about how selective breeding has created monster Hogs.

i believe he still does. just email him. he doesn't bite... most of the time LOL
he may be out. he generally has a waiting list and sells out of animals quite early. if you are into pure blood locality, Gus is your man. :)

i have not talked to gus in a couple of years but i am pretty sure he is still breeding boas. i think he will til he is old and withered (if you read this Gus, I love you :smitten:)

if you are asking if that is a pure hog island boa i would say absolutely not. it looks more like a mainland bci (somewhere like colombia)
