OK.....any and all input on this would be wonderful, so please post your experiences! I have one rack right now. It's a heavy, beastly melamine rack that the bf and I built. It works great. Just heavy.

Anyway, now that breeding season is underway, I am looking to build a 2nd adult rack and a hatchling rack, as well. I am considering melamine, but possibly an open rack design to make them a bit lighter. I am wondering if heat is hard to keep in the tubs in an open rack design (vs. the enclosed design like I have now)?

I'm also considering XPVC...there is a plastics place pretty close to my house to check out options there on Monday.

Anyway, again, I appreciate all thoughts and input! :main_yes:

I don't see why this would be a problem. I actually use tanks, but they are i shelf units with no back or sides. I heat with UTH's or heat cable and it seems you should be able to just run the heat cable under the tubs and it will be fine.
