Hole size?

So I'm thinking about making a hide for my geckos using a cardboard thing as a template and laying sculpey over it. I know my geckos love dark caves so I want to make the entrance as small as possible yet large enough to accommodate a full grown gecko when they grow up (they're still juveniles). So right now I have a rectangular hole sized at 1.5" high and 2.25" wide. Is that too small? I've come to realize that geckos are pretty good at squeezing through small holes... but I don't want them to get stuck! Input from those of you with full-grown geckos is appreciated. thanks.

That sounds about right. I've noticed that most leos like to try and wedge themselves in tight places and it seems the smaller the wedge, the more likely they'll try to get themselves in there. But some are just lazy and like a regular sized hole to climb into. lol
