Holes or not

Over here in England they say that the more holes the better in the hatchling tub, but i get a feeling that over your side of the pond you dont put holes in???

I am using a plastic tub with a lid that fits over completely or can be folded so half on half off, i found the half on half off method is holding temps better so have left it that way, the plasctic tub is filled with water and with an aquarium heater and 2 bricks, on the bricks sits the hatchling tub with holes in, the temps are stable between 80*f - 81*f.

Should i leave with holes in or get another hatchling tub with no holes?

I would assume that if you can keep the humidity up between at least 80-90% the holes are OK. I have been using Albey's method with airtight containers, opening the containers weekly and have been successrul. You could always have one container with holes and one without and see what gets you the best results, or if there's any difference at all.

Yeh humidity is just about right. Was gonna try 1 of each to see if 1 is better than the other, what is this 'Allbeys' Method? Lol

Found this 'Allbeys' method, is the water ration the same if using vermiculite, also when taking the lid off doesnt it shake any water droplets that are on the inside of the lid causing to fall onto eggs?

I have no idea how this would work with vermiculite. With perlite, there are no water droplets on the lid. The water seems to go to the bottom and I can see condensation there, but not on the lid.
