I'm going home for thanksgiving, but since it will be for less than a week, i am planning to load a dish up with mealworms and leaving kiki here.

I'm also going home for Christmas. no one will be in my apartment for a few weeks.. my roommate will be driving home a few hours away, so i am planning to ask her to take care of kiki. she has a crested gecko, so i trust her to care for kiki.

however, as i've been thinking about this the past few days, i've wondered if there's any possible way to carry a gecko on the plane. i'm guessing the answer would be no.. but has it been done??

there are ways around it. When i was young, we smuggled geckos from Florida on the plane. You could try putting her in a deli cup with holes in your purse or carry on

haha okay, i'd thought about that possibility, but what about security? won't they be able to see her through their little x-ray deal? lol..

that's true, security is much more strict since I did it. You could put her in one of those "reptile shipping boxes" with a heat pack. Or you could even overnight ship her to your place.

Yeah, I'm sure your friend will take good care of her. Just leave her home, it won't be that long. :)

If you decide you want to take her out of town with you shipping would be your best bet. Airlines will not let you bring geckos on the plane and it definitely wouldn't be worth trying to sneak one on board.

i know continental airlines will charge you to ship a gecko for $150, or you could ship overnight, or just leave her at home
