If you have a router or table saw I would use plywood or pine and then make the bottom from plexiglass. Thats where the router or table saw would come in handy. You put the grooves for the plexiglass to slide in and out of. Also you can attach an Under Tank Heater to warm it up.

I would use melamine. It looks good and holds up pretty nice. Thats what I used for my beardie enclosure. I then bought W-Pannels for a sliding plexi glass doors.

I know how you feel. I work from home, so at times I start projects just to help maintain my sanity.;) I made a bunch of tanks out of melamine last summer. It was alot of work, but I enjoyed it. I got the idea from this link:
http://www.leopardgecko.co.uk/documents/diy/project1.htm

I made a few changes as far as size and added a doubled floor with a piece of glass. The doubled floor allowed me to use belly heat and still stack them.

Here's a few pics. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more info or links to where to find materials...

Thanks everyone!

John - I have three of the visionariums too. They're awesome! They are a little thinner floor space wise than a 20L. I put them in a book case (office depot), and I think they look great. Things have changed quite a bit as everyone outgrew their hides. One side note, the locks didn't fit between the glass, so I use a couple pieces of matboard to keep the doors closed.

Monte, where did you get the lights for your visionariums? I bought the socket from LLL when I bought mine, but all bulbs that fit the socket hang down too low.

I tried the slate thing, or at least bought slate for them, but because the bottom of the visionarium is rounded I couldn't use them, and I didn't feel like getting them cut. I had fake rock in there, but small pieces only. I was building a big piece but 1) ran out of moneym 2) got bored with it, and 3) realized it wouldn't fit in the visionarium. I currently only use 1 of the 3. I have deli cups, hatching medium, spray bottles, and CGD in the other 2.

Whitney - The lights I used for these came from here:
http://www.petco.com/product/14564/...e-Fixture-with-Desert-7-percent-UVB-Lamp.aspx
They were realllly expensive though! I would probably hit Home Depot or Walmart if I had to do it again. They have some nice strip lights that you can link together for $8-10 so you'd only have one plug. Especially since you don't really need the uv. I was scared to have any of the bulbs inside the tank too.

As far as the tile goes, I had to cut everything a bit short due to the curve on the floor of the visionariums. I cut the tile so you have two pieces that meet in the middle along the length ( == ). It seemed to conform to the shape the best.

Lol!! That would be an expensive storage cabinet!!
