Home Made Or Commercial?

I was wanting to ask you breeders out there, what do you prefer, a home made incubator or a commercial one.
Home made being a poly box, heatpad. thermostat etc
Commerical being one like a hoverbator or the herp nursery.

I have a home made one and a commercial one from Natures Spirit. I love the commercial one.

The temperature is so much more consistent and even throughout the Natures Spirit incubator. I have no issues of maintaining temps or adjusting. I just plug it in when and set the temp and walk away.

Sure the home made variety is great and cheap, lots of fun and a challenge to build too, but can cause more hassles and any future problems while eggs are 'cooking' can potentially kill your clutch.

By the time that you spend the money to build a very good one, you might as well buy one made commercially.

I have little skill for building things, I have learned it saves me time, effort and grief if I just buy something already built and ready to go.

when you live in the USA its no question. A hovabator is like 35 bucks while a Bruja(looking the same) in Germany is at least 120 bucks.

I would always go with a Hovabator instead of a self made one I mean okay when you need more space you can build one yourself but then I would prefer a natural spirit

commercials are just more reliable. I've used both and still prefer regular old hovabators. Home made incubators are more likely to fluctuate and less reliable. With the low cost of hovabators there's really no reason not to go with something proven.
