I was curious is it would be ok to house 2 geckos together right when I get them or if I should house them seperately and then put them together. I ask this because I am planning on getting some breeders within the next couple of months and I would like to house them together. Any help would be great. Thanks.

if you are getting them from the same breeder I dont really see to much of a problem with it. If not then quarantee would be best. Also if they are both males its bad idea and also if they are male and female they stand a high chance of breeding. So unless you are ready for eggs possibly right away I would seperate them.

Yup. Same breeder, it should be okay, but if not keep them seperate for 30-60 days. They also need to be about the same size, and keep in mind that sometimes some gecko personalities aren't compatable.

Males can't be housed together, and males and females give you babies. Females are usually cool together.

Having multiple geckos in one tank is risky.
After many research through internet , I now believe that even female geckos fight with each other, it's better to be safe.

I had this problem when I introduced a new female as well. I ended up setting the new one up in the main tank and quarantined the original for a while. Introducing her back into the tank cured her.

How often will the male breed with the female?? Always, or just once a year or something??
Some males will often try to repeatedly breed with the female throughout the year, to the point that it can become very stressful and even dangerous to the health of the female. Other owners have housed a pair together for years without any problems, it all depends on the leos involved. I believe the general rule is, always house males and females seperate, just in case, unless they actually form a 'bond' and are unwilling to thrive seperately.

As for housing females together, that's just something you would have to monitor. Some females get along just fine, others can't stand each other and will fight like males. Introduce them and keep an eye on them, if they start to fight then immediately seperate them. If nothing seems to happen, then just monitor them daily, check for bite marks and signs of bullying.

I've housed my older batch (1.2) together for years.

I recently decided though that, as I'm not actually trying to breed them, there's no percentage in non-stop shagging and will be setting up a bachelor quarters for Edgar.

My wife insists he'll miss the other two though so we'll be keeping an eye on him for signs of despondency.
