ok so my gecko always seems really bored when hes in his cage. he runs a lot when hes out and seems to really like being handled by me. i was thinking of getting another one so maybe he wasnt so lonly. hes about 6 months old and a normal. my question is can i have females in there with him and are there morphs that dont get along together?

your gecko will look really bored to you because they are nocturnal. basically they will sleep all day and become active at night. also leopard geckos dont really get lonely. they can be perfectly happy in solitude. Your gecko will become very active when you hold him because think about it. a giant has just picked him up and put him somewhere different and to him that place is pretty cold comparde to his cage temps. werll i hope i helped :)

There is no need to get another leo to keep the one you have company... They are not social animals and do not feel things like being bored... Reptiles are not super active animals because of the way they metabolize their food intake... They do not want to expend their valuable energy on running around... They would rather stay at rest and be left alone...

And He can't be with a male.

In my experience males can be housed together as long as there is no female presant, I have house three males together with no problems, no fighting, no biting. they only get aggresive when a female is in the same cage. So if you want to get another gecko then as far as I`m concerened you should have no problems.

i aint an expert or anything what so ever. but i really would like to know how humans know anything about how reptiles fell or what they like. that just makes me wonder how ppl can tell me that my gecko would be happier by them selves. doesnt make sense to me due to the fact we have no communication with these reptiles or animals to that fact. i feel that my geckos are alot happier with others. my females get along cuddle together and get along great and seem alot happier than my juvi and my male that is alone. i also have put my male with a female and they were great. and yes there is a way to put them with another one with out breeding. by a female have another tank and when you get the male out to spend time together have the female with him and see how he acts. then put them back by themselves if you dont want to breed. atleast they have time together. and another thing they are in new places they want to investigate it and explore. they like freedom too. do what you want to do and what you think is best. do what you want not what others say. everyone agrees to disagree ..and i have seen alot of that in here everyone has their own thoughts and IMO i rather them have someone to be with than by them self.
also yours is 6 months so have you made sure 100 its a male. because if your not 100% sure and it turns out to be a girl. you can put a female in there as long as its a big enough cage........GOOD LUCK and do what you want

same here i have 2 males together now thats been together for over 5 years. that i just got 6 months ago. and i have no problems what so ever and owner that gave them to me said they have never been apart since juvi's so i kept them this way. but i try not to mention that in here so i dont get ppl jumping down my throat with how wrong i am for that.
