So I came home today and my incubator jumped up from 87 degrees to 92!!!! WTF?? It was only about 6 hours.. how long do temps have to be above 90 to kill the eggs? I am hoping they are all okay... I am definately getting a thermostat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How hot is it in your house? It's above 90 in much of the northeast today. My incubator is at 86 right now and if it were going to be a more permanent heat wave I would be taking the incubator into the basement. Remember that the incubator, even with a thermostat, cannot "cool" the temp. If it's hot outside the incubator it's going to be hot inside. If you have access to a basement, this is a good time to prepare the space.

I'm not sure what the max. is exactly, all I know is that many breeders do not recommend incubating at temps above 90, and what worried me more is the fact that it was a 5 degree jump... from 87 to 92. If it were to go from 90 to 92 I would not have been concerned AS much..
