i might want to get into breeding bold stripes and boldstripe snows, but i don't understand how the morph works.like is it recessive, dominant,or polygenic like superhypos.and what do i get if i breed bold stripe to boldstripe, boldstripe to mack snow, and boldstripe to tremper albino?thanks for anyhelp.i think they are a beautiful morph and would really like to get into breeding them.thanks!

some people say their lines of bold stripe act recessive but the bold stripe pattern is originally a line bread trait, from selecting jungles that had nearly stripes and keeping offspring that had the bold pattern and most complete stripes, then crossing these to each other, parents or similar geckos bought in,
i'm sure i heard on a late night leo's broadcast that all the boldstripes in existence came from a jungle male that sired two partial striped babies which were bread back to dad by the big man ron tremper, maybe they have been so heavily selective bread that they have become a fixed polygenic morph and now act recessive

i am sure that ron tremper did not originated the first jungles i am sure many of the old timers had them pop out too. you can get jungles from breeding F1 and F2 animals. not all lines of stripes are recessive but several lines are. the color of the stripe, the wideness or narrowness, the boldness are line bred. the stripe gene itself is recessive.

So what would I get if I bred a Mack snow to a bold stripe?50% ms het bs and 50% normal het bs?then if I bred the Mack snows back,I could get macksnow bold stripes, right?but then could I also get ssbs?is that even possible?

50% snows and 50% normals all het stripe remember many things can effect how bold of a stripe it is or how not. as far as making bold stripe it is easier to buy some bold stripes or jungles, even if you start out with only one

yes you could get bold stripe snows the second year. now make sure and start out with the boldest stripe and a bold mack snow to get the boldest geckos.

it was kelli hammock in her late night leos interview who said all the bold stripes in existence came from ron trempers line

i have to disagree. tremper might have been the first to market them but i am pretty sure he was not the first one to "create" the morph.
