How do I lower humidity in my terrarium?

I have just recently purchased a leopard gecko from ++++++++, while looking at care guides I notice that the humidity needs to be lower than 60% and preferably at 30%. The problem is that I live in the state of Florida where the humidity is rarely below 80% even during winter. The humidity is even worse during the summer. I'd like advice on how to lower the humidity by 50%. I would greatly appreciate it.

I am no expert and I live in Ohio so this isn't really an issue for me, but you could maybe look into putting a mini dehumidifier into the room with the tank(s) to bring the humidity level of the entire room down. :)

I may do that if I can find one for a good price. How harmful is high humidity in a leopard gecko's terrarium? The store I bought the gecko from didn't seem to have dehumidifiers.

I know too high of humidity can possibly make them more susceptible too infection, cause respiratory problems, or even put them off of feed. Doesn't mean it will happen, as I know a lot of people care for them in the Pacific NW, New England, etc. but those are potential risks. [emoji20]

When I googled mini dehumidifier I saw that Walmart had some for about $60. Also, I don't know how well it would work but there is a product called DampRid that is pretty cheap. You could try putting it near your tank and see if it lowers the humidity in the tank before springing for an actual dehumidifier.

I just bought one the other day because my 18 year old Camry is letting moisture in somewhere and it is pulling the water out of the air pretty well.

Running Heat/AC also tends to dry out the air pretty good which maybe why the store didn't have a dehumidifier.

Good luck!
