What is the best way to keep crickets alive for a long time? What temps do the crickets need to be in and the humidity? Is a potato ok to use to keep alive for along time? I bought some crickets at the pet store, so I need to know how to keep them alive for the longest time poss. Thanks.

A lot of it depends upon the size of the crickets that you have

Large crickets are nearing the end of their lifespan which is 8 to 10 weeks long

I usually buy 1000 1/2 crickets per week and they are gone before they are dead

Keep them dry and with current warm weather -I like to keep them in a cool room-under 80 degrees

Feed them either commercial gut load or you can make your own

I use dark greens and sweet potato or baby carrots for moisture-just remove any uneaten pieces so that they don't mold

Two of the biggest things with crickets is not to crowd them and not to leave any open water source for them to drown in

Most people use egg crates for them to climb around on

Do a search on the web for additional care tips

Almost every Cricket supplier has a care page on them

Have fun

I think that crickets are a necessary evil-lol!
