How do you know when a female is ovulating?

I know this has probably been asked before, but how do you really know. I have seen pictures with geckos under lamps to see through them. But if that isn`t possible, is there another way to tell?

You see it throught the belly! No need for a lamp and believe me when you see somethign and are unsure she isn´t ovulating *G* I thought dozent times I saw something but when I than realy SAW something I knew it at once
