How do you transfer roaches

How do you transfer roaches into the smaller shipping containers when you're shipping them? Also, how do you switch out all of the eggcrates when you're cleaning the tank?

As for the shipping thing: When I worked at the pet store and had to distribute crickets, there was this kind of test tube-looking thing with an open square top to it. They couldn't climb out, and they poured out just nicely. Maybe a large drinking glass would do the same thing?

So, you used that to scoop up the crickets? Sounds easy enough.

Well, crickets were kept in bins usually with some egg crate. I would tap the egg crate against the collector tube and they would fall in.

... I don't like touching them.

I keep paper towel rolls in the tubs. I simply pull out a roll, shake what I need into a roach sorter, and feed them off.

For cleaning tubs I get a clean empty tub, take out each egg crate sheet and tap it hard and shake until all roaches fall off in the new tub. Repeat. Pour the roaches through the size sorter and then move into new tubs with fresh crate.
