So today we did the BIG clean! We take geckos and beardie out. One cage at a time. Then we take out all furniture clean it. Next we take out tiles and the paper towels under them, clean the tiles. Then do a cage cleaning. After all the cleaning we put in new paper towels then tiles over it and rearrange cage. Do this 3 times and an hour later i am done. Dragon cage took the longest with all his damn climbing items. Anyone have a tricks to make it go a little faster?

I do not see a reason to clean climbing spots and other cage furnishings, aside from water dishes and substrate, unless they are really soiled... Other than that, this is one of the most time consuming parts of reptile husbandry...

When dealing with tanks it does take a super long time. There really is no way to short cut anything with out short cutting on care of the animals.

I know when i had my tanks it took us a good 2 hours to do everything.

I use one part vinegar, two parts water. I only have one, so I just leave him in there and work him around him. He doesn't care.

Long and drawn out! I spot clean, collect eggs, make sexy time, moisten lay boxes and shedding geckos moist hides all daily and then do a big clean on the weekend. About once a month i do a deep clean. I only care for around 100 leos and some babies lol...I have no idea where larger scale breeders get the time..I leave work at 730, shower and clean/feed till i go to sleep through the week lol! Good thing i love my geckos!

Daily:
.wash and fill water dishes
.change paper towel in their toilet areas (mine all go in one spot)
.wash and fill mealie dish

Weekly:
.clean all the tank furnishings in the sink with antibacterial soap and rinse
.while they are drying I clean the tanks with vinegar water in a spray bottle
. once dry I replace everything

Monthly:
.bake all wood in the oven
.wash rocks and plants in antibacterial soap

This might be overkill but our tanks are all in the main living area so I like them to be as smell free as possible.

Daily- change water ( am and pm)and wipe out dishes
spot clean any soiled areas.
wash the mealie dishes
wipe the calcium off the fronts of a few tanks. We have a few that like to play in the calcium
bi-weekly- steam clean the tile ( it is siliconed in to keep the bugs from getting under the tile)
change the moist hide substrate ( bed-a-beast
soak and scrub the rocks and wood

once a month we bake the rocks and wood items.
