Mealworms, I mean. When refridgerated and taken out twice a week to gutload and whatnot, how long do they usually live?

How long do superworms live, since you cannot refridgerate them?

Thanks!

Ive kept mealies for about a month at the longest, supers, much longer. Supers imo last longer then mealies. They are also concidered to be more nutritional. With mealies the main issue is that they pupate and then turn into beatles after a while. Supers dont normaly pupate when kept in a container with other supers, they need to be seperated before the pupate.

It really depends on who you buy from. And how young you get them. Ive had mine last 3 months before(but now i go through them in 2 weeks with all my geckos). Just put a carrot in there and some mealworm bedding and you are good to go. Replace carrot when it is gone or when it turns soft.

Thanks guys! So what would qualify as mealworm bedding? If I got like, a pack of 500 mealies, that would last a couple weeks at least?

Most worm sites have their own mealworm bedding. It's usually pretty cheap and it saves you money in the long run since it keeps the worms alive. If you don't want to do that you could always go to the store and get some wheat bran.
