I had two females this season who threw infertile second clutches when the male was taken out. After I reintroduced the male, I've had fertile eggs since. :undecided:
Thanks for the replies. Great info. My newist addition came to me and produced one egg and then again about 2 weeks later and now I can see eggs again. I do have her housed alone. She is rather small and want her to gain weight. She eats well and I give her plenty of calcium. I was just wondering how long she will continue to produce eggs. Just concerned for her. The eggs appear to be doing well and appear fertile upon candling.
I have read that a female can retain the sperm from a single breeding for the entire season, but it has been my experience with leopard geckos that 3-4 clutches (6-10 weeks) is the realistic number.
My N. levis and U. milii are another story... I have not had the males in with the females since June, and a few are still laying fertile clutches.
