how long for color

when purchasing a baby gecko, how long before you know what color they are going to be?or stay?
as i am wanting to purchase raptors and the only ones i find are young ones. I have never purchased one that young, so will the color stay or does it change, if it changes how long until they quit changing colors,

7-10 months roughly and depending on temps in the viv
