how long to wait

i was wondering when i should take out my male AFT from his breeding cage with my female they have been together for one week today i just wanted to know if anone leaves them in longer or a week is fine i really want eggs so whatevers best let me know thanks

More than likely, if they are going to breed, it will have taken place within a few minutes of putting them in together. I usually leave my male in over night and then take him out. A week is WAY more time than you need. If it hasn't happened by now, it's probably not going to happen. Did you see them doing the deed? My best breeders will immediately get the job done, but a couple of my males are lazy and it takes a few hours.

i put them together and it seemed like the female was receptive but the male was hesitant i did see him bite her a couple of times then decided not to he was also wagging his tail and doing a little chirp so i left them in a week just to hope they would breed what do you think

Just like Chris said, take them apart and give them a rest period. You can try again in 5-7 days.
