how many crickets for my leo?

hi i my leopard gecko just started eating crickets and i was wondering how many i should give her i just got her last weekend from jett exotics

It may be that no one has seen this thread because it's posted in the chat sub-forum. I'm moving it to the Feeding/Feeders section where you should get more responses.

It depends on how big the gecko and crickets are but I would start out giving it a couple at a time. Just feed as many as it will eat within a few minutes. Leaving uneaten crickets in the tank will stress the gecko out. After a while you'll figure out how many it will normally eat a day.

For young leos I was told 6-8 a night. From personal experience it is more like 8-10 or sometimes even 12 depending on cricket size and how hungry your leo is. I feed by tossing in 2-8 and then removing the uneaten ones, if there are any, or offering one or two more. You most likely know this already, but remember to gut load and dust your feeders.
