I was just curious how often you feed your Leos and relatively how much?
I need to purchase a scale but I feed Zoe 10 large mealworms every other day. I know a few people who feed theirs 15 - 20 every other day and I just feel that she is getting to be a little fatty lol. I know she would eat more if Id let her. When I come in to clean or change water she goes straight to her dish and looks at me waiting for her food. It is 3am so I will ad a pic to this post later on after I have had some sleep. (She is over a year old)

Thank you for the quick reply. I have been working under that theory but I was curious. Like how most say watch feeding wax worms because they are addicting and fattening. So it would not be good for them to get "over" weight right? And she is small I can not remember off the top of my head but I believe she is only 6 1/2 inches so what in your opinion do you think would be a good weight range? Im going to go look for a scale tomorrow, I heard you can get one at wal-mart.

I give my leos wax worms once every couple of months. How old is she? i would feed her as much as she will eat. 6 1/2 inches i would say should be around 40 ish grams give or take.get a cheap scale at walmart

I don't have a method, it's more by eye...and by weight. I don't hear too many people letting adults eat as much as they want. But some will stop and some won't.

I let the little ones eat as much as they want (hatchlings and underweight), within reason. But my youngest is allowed as many as she wants and she's getting chubby, but since she's growing so fast she's allowed to have as much as she wants.

My others Rose, she eats a couple supers every other day...about 3 every other day, and some crickets here and there.

My Fae, is a leo that runs thin, I can't get her to gain weight (I'll be working on it more when the weather warms up), I allow her to have as much as she wants, because she never takes very much. So I just keep a few supers in her dish at all times.

Eros who is 9 mos old gets fed 3x a week 1-2 supers per feeding (he usually only takes one tho). Am trying a new feeding schedule on tues and thurs (2x a week) to see if he'll eat more or if it stays the same. Also leos will sometimes slow down how much they eat in the winter months simply because of the season change.

The reason I allow my leos to eat as much as they want is because during mating season they will lose some weight and also because my leos dont eat as much during the winter so i want to make sure they are all good weight. If i regulate their diet like most ppl do when they become gravid or go through hunger strikes all of a sudden their leos become too lean. All my leos are healthy and robust even when they are gravid. One of the really key things for me also is to feed them a wide range of feeders and along with good supplements

How much to feed really depends on the gecko. Cut down their food if you think your gecko is getting a little too chubby. With younger ones, I feed daily or every 2nd day until they're full because they need the food to grow; they're usually eating machines. With my adults, I decide how much they eat according to their body shape, and I feed them every 3 days.
