How much to buy

I have two geckos - three months old - and unfortunately I do not have a credit card to order lots of gecko food online, so I have to stick to the pet stores for now, and I don't want to do a run to the mall every weekend. Since a lot of you have had geckos for a long time (i've had a gecko before, and someone who drove so prolonging food was not an issue), and probably know how long a certain amount will last.

I was hoping at least 2-3 weeks before I have to run to the mall. Would that be around 4 dozen? I'd be getting mealies and probably butter worms too. (I is not ever doing the cricket thing again)

Any advice would be awesome ^^

I'd call ahead & see if they'll let you buy 500 at a discounted rate. They'll keep in the fridge for months.

I'd also start up your own mealie colony. Search for how to, there are a lot of great posts on starting your colony. It's easy, they don't smell & it'll really help you out since getting out to the mall is tough.

Search through this topic for gutloading info as well. It'll help the mealworms last longer and it's healthier for the Leos. As Jeanine said, you can't go wrong with getting 500 at a time since they'll stay good in the fridge.

Well...just as I posted this in the morning, I left for work with mail at my door...turns out, I was actually approved for my mastercard this time...so...that means I can order online! XD

But since I have been evicted from my place - I think ordering online will have to wait. So gutloading legions of mealies it is >.>

Thank you guys ^^
