How often a Gecko Sheds

I have read some estimated time tables on when or how often a gecko sheds. I guess I am lucky because I noticed tonight she is shedding again. The last time was exactly 3 weeks ago.

My gecko is almost 7 inches long and I don't know exactly how old she is. ( real hatch date)

What would be helpful is as they get to being an adult / size. Does shedding become less or will they shed regular about every 3 weeks?

What are expected shedding cycles? as to age or other factors?

At every three weeks, it sounds like you have a sub-adult on your hands...like maybe 6 or 7 months? How much does this gecko weigh?

Right now my oldest sheds about every 6-8 weeks. It all depends on their nutritional intake, too.

I don't have a scale but maybe based on aprox 7 inches...... can you guess by the pick?

She still appears young to me, and to be shedding every 3 weeks is a good indication that she's still growing. She still has some of her banding, and the white band across the back of her head... I'm still going with 6 months or so...but that's just my ballpark guess.

I think you are right because she was sold as a sub adult. So when she reaches the full adult she will loose some of her bands and a color change to some degree? Bummer.....lol...... I think she looks awesome like she is..lol.

She's beautiful! She may not lose her color, but her pattern will definately change with age. She might keep some of that lavender, and the yellow shouldn't fade. Heck, it should start looking better with each shed. That's the fun of it all.

I tell you what is cool. When they start to shed their body turns white fist and then their head...... after that I think it takes a few hours and off it comes. They do look awesome after a fresh shed!
