I have a partially blind hatchling that needs to be assist fed. I know that normal hatchlings should have constant access to mealies. So, how many times a day should I be assist feeding my little guy, and how much per feeding? (An answer that addresses both # of mealies and volume of liquid diet would be very helpful, as sometimes he won't take the mealies and I have to feed him a mash)

I'm dealing with the same thing. I start the smallest ones on about 1-2 medium mealies (more if they'll take them, but that seems to be their limit) and a few drops of water. Or else I put them in a shallow water bowl to see if they'll drink. I've had several of these geckos hatch out over the past few years and have found that usually they will eventually become indep. feeders.

I had to assists feed one and did about what Aliza said. I gave 2 medium sized mealworms once a day. I didn't start assist feeding until 10 days after hatching and after about 10 days of assist feeding the hatchling started eating on its own. If I gave my hatchlings access to food 24/7 I'm pretty sure at least a few would explode...lol...they devour EVERYTHING in sight on sight :)

Thanks for the info! Mine is taking normally about 3 once a day, but I was concerned it wouldn't be enough. He is 1 month old now, and has only gained 2 grams.
