Depends on how old the gecko is. My hatchlings get fed daily, what they can eat - usually 6-8 crickets or roaches (they will NOT touch mealies oddly). Once my babies got to be about 4-5" long I cut the feeding to every other day, and upped the size of the prey items a bit. I did that until they were around a year old, then cut their feedings to once every couple days, between 6-10 food items at a feeding.

Also, keep in mind that variety is great. Mealworms, superworms, crickets, roaches, wax worms (very occasionally, they are highly fatty), etc...Their are positives and negatives of each feeder. I personally fed of mealworms and crickets for years, and recently got my roach colony started so I'll be able to supply my own feeders. It's all about what works for you! Everyone is different. Just make sure the size of the feeder is appropriate for the size of the gecko. Nothing wider than the width of their head should be fed.

That is what has worked for me, but I'm sure others do it differently. It really depends on your gecko...if you have a highly active gecko that burns a lot of fat (I have one I can't get to gain weight for the life of me, and she's perfectly healthy), then feeding every other, or every couple days won't hurt at all. I also have a Fatty McFatPants that I can't get to LOSE a gram, even though I'm feeding her only twice a week. Use your judgment and you'll be just fine!
