I wanted some advice on breeding mealworms, I have searched the forum abit already.
I have one mealworm that has grown into a pupae and then hatched into a beetle which
is pretty cool seeing as I wasn't planning on breeding them but now its happened I want
to have a go. Is there anything I need to do to get the beetles to start producing mealworms.
Obviously I need more than one beetle so I'm going to get alot more mealworms so they can
reproduce. Also once the beetles mate do they produce live mealworms or eggs or what, I'm
about unsure about what happens. Can the mealworms, pupae, and beetles be kept together?
The mealworms are kept on oats at the moment, it was what they were stored in when I bought
them but its only a thin layer, do they need more so they can dig or bury in them? I don't give them
all carrots etc for moisture as the box I keep them in stayed pretty moist already, I do occasionally
spray the oats to moisten it abit more. Any advice would be great - Thanks
