So I recently got a pair of Leos from a breeder, he feeds them crickets all the time. How can I turn them to eat mealies since I find mealies to live longer in my care than crickets.
Most of the time you don't have to do anything special. If they're good eaters, they eat whatever is in front of them that moves. You can try to use tweezers so you can place the worm in front of them and so they can see it moving...this is usually enough for most.
They may hunger strike for a few days, but as long as they are healthy with fat tails, let them protest for a while, and keep offering the worms. Gutload them beforehand on something sweet, like apple, to entice the geckos.
Otherwise, mine took right to them. I despise crickets, so only do worms at my house! No complaints so far .
