How to disinfect wood for plywood surface?

Hi, I was thinking of upgrading the floor space of my terrarium since it's square and high (18x18x24) by building a second floor that's 9x14 in a corner. What I had in mind for the surface was 1/2 inch plywood and repti-carpet on top of it to protect the belly of the geckos. The problem is I'm scared that it could contain mite or any bacteria. I heard that it could be desinfected by cooking it or something. My question is at what temperature and for how long? Also will it damage or deforme the surface?

Thanks
