How to handle the Cricket "Escapees"?

I have been feeding both Crickets and Mealies to my Geckos for the last 3 months. The Geckos love the crickets, and my boys like watching them chase eat them...so we will be continuing to do both.

As careful as I have tried to be...I do have some escapee crickets that have nicely matured into adults...that CHRIP ALL NIGHT! I have one/some in both bedrooms, computer room and bathroom.

Does anyone have any good methods to catch these escapees?? It doesn't bother me much...but I worried that the Landlord is going to get a bit upset with an "infested apartment".

Any ideas would be greatly appreaciated!

I have a similar problem with escaping crickets. the first thing would be to find out how they get out at fix that. I had a heat rock in with my fat tail gecko, and they would crawl up the cord and out the tank that way, I've since switched to a UTH, problem solved. As for the crickets that are already out and hiding, when they chirp, try to follow the chirp sound to get a good idea where they are coming from, then take care of them as you would any normal pest. If that doesn't work well enough, try sticky ant or mouse traps if you can tell where they would be hiding.

Let the geckos out to roam LOL

Seriously those glue traps mentioned catch everything but mice you should try them.

Crickets are always hungry and they like the dark. You could put a piece of dry dog food in a toilet paper tube along the wall and check it every so often. They will usually travel along the baseboards.

I've been told to put a piece of double sided tape down in the rooms where you think they are hiding, and put a carrot or other piece of food that would attract them on it. They should be waiting for you in the morning.

LOL, LOL,...Here is another good one or two.. Install a gate and toll booth on the cricket corral......
another, call Buddy Holly....(yeah, I know)..
.Humor is great but I know you want results in capture methods from the HJ big game hand book. so......
********now serious words:
****** They really want moisture because they dehydrate very quickly.
Shoe box w/lid/ 2 small entry holes so you get them from two directions, and 1/2 of an orange inside located far corner from the holes, set it in one corner of the room the sound seems to be coming from......
Check it..chirp, chirp, I hear one in it now.......take care. HJ..
