I have 2 patty females and one male. One female laid eggs a month ago, which rotted. she laid 2 more today, which appear to be infertile. The other female is developing her first set of eggs, but im not sure i want to breed her do to her size. The larger experienced female is in the same tub with the male, but i have not seen him express any interest in her, and it appears he has not done anything due to the eggs looking infertile. Is there a way to convince him he should breed? ive tried taping other males poop on the side of the tub without any success. any suggestions would help.

Males which have't been housed with a female for a period of tine typically show interest in females when they are placed in thier cage. You could except tail rattling right away in that event. Is she a first time breeder? often time the first clutch of a first time breeding female will prove infertile even with the fact that she successfully bred. They can also have most or even all of thier eggs infertile for the remainder of that season. I often find it hard myself to see if I have a pair which are housed together breeding but if they aren't together thier reactions toward each other when first put together prove as a good indicated as how things night go. try and house him along for a week or so and see how he is after being placed back with the female. Outside of what I've stated and what you've tried the most obvious is cooling them yet I've never go that route.
I hope that helps

My male would not breed with several females. He went from one owner to the next, and then to me. When I got him, within days he was mating with my female. He had been placed with other albinos, patternless, etc. He chose my normal. Ha. Crazy head.

some of them just seem to have taste. I had a normal that would only breed with our high yellow; he wouldn't touch our patty or our blizzard..

See that shows that some guys aren't only interested in outer appearance!! Its whats on the inside that counts!! haha, sorry couldn't resist. Back to the topic, I too have found that if the male is seperated from the females then introduced to the female it is almost immediate when you would get the tail rattle, etc. etc. etc. (Keeping it clean, Ryan might get on to me, lol)
