The more used to you they get the calmer they will be when you handle them. Try to let them come to you and climb on your hand by placing your hand in your cage with your palm up, also do not handle them too much in one day, it can easily cause a lot of stress for your little guys.

I'm Trying To Tame My New Gecko Also. Got It On 10/7/11 Left It Alone For A Two Days And Started Trying To Pick It Up Today! He Was On My Hands And JUMPED Back Into His Cage. Good Thing I Was Still Had My Hand In The Cage LOL Gave Me A Heart Attack I Swear, So I Guess I'll Try Again Tomorrow. I Know It Stresses Him So I'll Be Taking My Time Trying To Tame Him, Maybe Once Or Maybe Twice A Day I'll Try To Pick Him Up.

Ok i HATE necroing BUT for the sake of your leopard geckos health NEVER flip them on their back as it can suffacte them.

my vet flips my gecko on her back every time she goes in to see him, is this still okay? And your saying just don't do it for fun...?

^ may your vet do whatever she wants but ive been told not to as they lack a proper diaphragm and have issues breathing on their back.

I have heard, correct me if I'm wrong, but if the lizard closes its eyes when you flip it on its back (chinese water dragons for example), that means it can't breathe. If its eyes are open and they're acting normal and relaxed, then that means they can breathe.

It's a funny picture and I'm sure the owner doesn't sit there and hold his or her gecko upside down for a long time, I'm sure it was just something that freakishly happened one day and they got a pic, the gecko is fine

just try to hold it everyday. im still taming my gecko vinnie. it freaks out when i try to pick it up, but once its on my hand its fine. just hold it for about 5-10 minutes every day. i also find its better if you hold them just after they have eaten
