How does everyone get there gecko to open its mouth for medications? I have to dose mine every other day and wondering the least invasive/stress less way to get them to take there oral meds.
I found that if you apply a little pressure to the bottom jaw, just at the "lip" the gecko will open its mouth wide. Then put the dropper (or whatever you use to administer the meds) in its mouth and go. Sometimes with this method, though, the gecko will shake its head and not swallow any of it, so be careful
I have found that if you rub the side of their mouth side to side or up and down they will open their mouth (reflex I believe) and then I put the drops in. Go slowly so they dont choke or get stressed out.
Ive used this method for slurry, medicine, and liquid calcium with no problems. Good luck
