im in the process of building a rack and purchased a heat cable with a built in thermostat. i have to pick up these geckos on saturday, so as much as i would have liked to use flexwatt, i cant afford the time for it to be shipped here. along with the built in thermostat, i will be checking temps constantly throughout the day. my rack is not the usual, its just a wooden shelving system i had laying around (with non adjustable shelves) and my containers that have ventilated lids seeing how i cant have the shelf above it snug against the top. i was thinking of placing "feet" on the containers to raise them up some so they do not rest directly on the cable. is this theory okay? how do others do this?

The rack I bought has the heat cable attached to the back wall so as to give back heat which seems to work for the 6qt tubs I have. Otherwise, using the small "feet" sounds as if it will work well.
