Okay so I am not a breeder but I am really curiouse. I know corss breeding is bad. so to start your 2nd generation (saying you have breed two leos and had babys) what do you do?
do you buy another leo to breed?

what I mean is this. you have a mom named A and a dad named B

A and B have babies. the baby is named C.

so you have
A+B
which gave you C. do you need to buy a new leo to breed to C?

I think your mixing a few things up, We suggest that you do not breed two types of Albino together, Or enigmas together yes.

As for son/daughter back to mom/dad, Its perfectly ok, i would stop around the 5th gen of inbreeding though if your going to go that far just to get some fresh blood into the equation.

Depends.on what you wanted to create, if you were going for triple or so recessive morphs in one then yes 3 or 4 gen line breedings may be necessary, however then many breeders now are trying to find normal het nothings so they can introduce new blood into their lines to keep the genetics strong.

You realize, of course, that if you breed A and B, you will likely not get just C, but also D, E, F,G . . .

For the next season you have the following choices:

--breed A and B again to each other
--Breed C, D, E etc. to one parent
--Breed C, D, E etc. to each other
--Sell C, D, E etc. and get a new gecko to add to the breeding group
--Stop breeding because you have too many leos and are spending too much time feeding and housing them.

I started with 1.2 my first season and gradually added newly bought leos and leos I'd produced. It's now the end of my 5th season and I have 4.10 of which I will be breeding 3.6 or 3.7.
