How wet should the moist hide be?

I have a plastic container with coco fiber in it, and I'm wondering if it is wet enough. I thought the coco fiber was supposed to maintain the moisture for quite a while, but while you can feel that there is some moisture in it, it's far from damp. If I spray it it will feel wet, but the next day not so much. Should it actually feel wet?

I ask this because I think our gecko is going to shed and I want to be sure I've got the moist hide right for him.

You can wet it up pretty good as coco fiber should absorb and retain the moisture quite well. Sometimes they can dry out faster due to the container/hide you are using. If you use a container with a hole on the top, they tend to dry out faster as moisture evaporate faster. If you use a container with hole on the side, they tend to keep the moisture in better.

Don't make it extremely sopping wet, make it a little more than damp. Just so it lasts a day or two, then you should probably re-moisten it.

I just pour water on it directly until it is throughly soaked to almost its max, it hurts nothing. Spraying cocofiber will do nothing aswell, it will abosorb the mist. Drench it. Just dont leave puddles.
