Hi there I am new to geckos..I
Went to a reptile show with a friend and ended up walking out with two flying geckos..I thought they were so neat looking. They seem to be doing alright but they were covered in red mites and are very skinny which being clueless at the time I didn't know..I tried to get them off using a small paint brush and some olive oil. can't say they like it much like to bite...They have so many places for the mites to hide. any other suggestion?? Also is it worth the stress taking the mites off??? I have had them for 4 days now. I have seen them drinking water droplets. Not 100 percent if they are eating crickets but they sure are pooping alot...........Again looking foward to this gecko world nice to meat ya...

hey. welcome to gf!
i would definately get the mites off if you care for your geckos. they can cause serious stress to the geckos if not treated. as for how, im not sure.
start asking around in the forums or do a search in the search bar for mites. This forum is packed full of useful and interesting information from a lot of experts.
Also, as for the crickets, when you put the food in with the gecko, watch them carefully to see if they are eating.

Welcome to the gecko forums!! Congrats on the new pets! I don't know anything about mites, so I'm not much help there, but good luck with them, and there is a ton of info. on here.

that sucks. i had a flying gecko once, it was awesome.

its hard to find a captive bred flying gecko, but they are the way to go as they will not have the parasites the wild caught ones have.

sorry for your loss and good luck.
